This is a great example of one of James Shoolbred's occasional tables and as an original are hard to come across.
Below the square walnut top which has a nicely moulded edge, the table has four tapered splayed legs which are finely pierced.
The table has a very useful lower tier, which one could use for books or magazines, with all four sides having an open gothic fret work gallery.
James Shoolbred & Co were established in the 1820's at 155 Tottenham Court Rd, London, W1. They became famous for designing, manufacturing and selling high quality furniture.
